Engagement:
The objective was to assist the client in identifying their requirements for front-end systems including asset allocation, portfolio management and order management applications. Current technology infrastructure consisted of various legacy and “off the shelf” applications. This environment did not adequately support internal or external communications.

Deliverable:
We interviewed senior and middle managers representing the business and technology areas to solicit their perspectives on the current situation, including strengths, weaknesses and potential solutions. These sessions served as a forum to reinforce the project goals and resolve communications conflicts.
Once a consensus was attained, we focused on potential solutions to address the client’s business requirements. These included internal and external interoperability and communications across the identified applications. A high level analysis was performed to assess the infrastructure of similar businesses as well as a detailed analysis of applications to determine interface, enable interoperability and communications.

Result:
Jeremiah Associates developed an “Application Technology Infrastructure (ATI) roadmap” that was endorsed by the business and technology areas. This ATI roadmap identified the business and technology considerations, as well as “off the shelf” applications to be addressed. A project plan was established, with cross-functional teams charged with conducing research and analysis and making recommendations to the project team management. The solution selected by the client included a product suite of applications from a single vendor with limited internal development of specific proprietary analysis. Elapsed time from start of the facilitation through implementation was eighteen months.
