Engagement:
Provided research, analysis, written opinion and testimony on a proposed change to federal escheatment laws. Jeremiah Associates was engaged for our expertise in financial services and technology business processes.

Deliverable:
We surveyed a representative sampling of investment banks and corporate trust agents to determine their current record keeping practices. The survey explored the impact on acquiring data and operational and technology changes that would be required to accommodate modified federal legislature. We prepared an expert opinion, including the impact of the proposed legislature on the industry. We continued to provide additional research and analysis to the client during the four-year process.
Testified before a congressional sub-committee in support of this legislature and responded to questions from representatives during the 45-minute appearance.

Result:
Legislation passed with an overwhelming majority of the sub-committee, resulting in a more equitable distribution of escheated funds among the fifty states.
