Our Approach to Mediation

Active listening is at the foundation of my mediation practice. I listen to each party and summarize back to confirm that I have heard and understand their position, concerns and objectives. Ongoing discussions to clarify and establish parties positions are critical.  Evidence is reviewed and validated as presented. Follow-up questions are used to clarify open issues and identify critical points. My goal is to ensure that each party is comfortable with the process and believes that their position and feelings have been recognized. Throughout the process I continue to focus on each party's position, the relevant issues and potential solutions. The mediation will conclude once an agreement has been reached and memorialized or when the parties believe that an agreement is not possible.

If time considerations are a problem, another mediation session will be scheduled to permit the parties to continue to explore and define solutions.
